Disclaimer: I have never been to a winery, never spoken to a sommelier, and don’t even know the difference between a merlot, and a Pinot noir. That being said…

Snoop Dogg has gone through a real change in perception and tone over the decades. Once known as the most down gang banger on the west coast, he’s now slanging Bic lighters with Martha Stewart, doing VO for the NFL on NBC, and commentating at the Olympics. This 19 Crimes “wine” seems to be somewhere in the transition phase for the D-O double G. Not quite thug culture hard liquor, but with the name… trying to play that part. It’s not Hypnotiq, and it ain’t Hennessy, but it’s not bad.
19 Crimes “wine” is nothing more than cheap box wine. That’s it. There’s nothing more to it than that. If you compare a bottle of 19 Crimes and a box of Sutter Home, the only difference is the price. And for $2.99, you can do a whole hell of a lot worse. Normal wines are around 15% ABV, while this is around 10%, so pound away, drink it chilled, over ice, mixed with Sprite… whatever you want. Because it not real wine, it’s “wine”.
Since Sutter Home and Franzia are already cheap knockoffs of budget wine; it’s not like there’s a big market for a knockoff of a knockoff. But then again Gap is a generic version of normal clothes, and Old Navy is the cheap version of that. And the last time I drove by the Laguna Marketplace shopping plaza it was Bed Bath & Beyond that closed down… not the Old Navy next door. I think 19 Crimes is gonna be a hit at $2.99… but absolutely not worth the $18.99 original price
Getting white girl wasted with Snoop Dogg on a Sunday should never cost more than $5
5/10 – decent bang for your buck, but buy 2 or 3 bottles
