The idea of Babs having a small mini-arc at the beginning does work in theory. They could’ve had an intro where her and Batman take down sone badguys with Brice getting over protective when she asserts herself as an adult who can take care of herself. He “grounds” her at home for a week and when she gets attacked by the Joker, that adds to the drama. At the end, however many months later, she’s Oracle, assisting Batman on a case that proves Batman always needed her. Roll credits.
