FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! Moving along through season three of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, we start off episode three with Willow, Oz, Cordelia, and Xander all heading out of school and discussing how, as seniors, they finally get to have lunch off-campus. Where is off campus? In the yard of the school. So there you go, I guess. Anyway, Buffy has set up … Continue reading MONSTER FIGHTS! A BTVS Retrospective, S3, E3-4

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! Season three starts off with the gang attempting to pick up an M.I.A. Buffy’s slack by hunting vampires, but… they are not particularly good at it. They are good enough to not die! But not to actually defeat any bloodsuckers. Their dialogue alerts us to the fact that school starts back up tomorrow. Buffy’s been gone all summer! Didn’t … Continue reading It’s Pet Sematary Now: A BTVS Retrospective, S3 E1-2

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! In the wake of the rise of Angelus, we settle in nice and easy, with Willow and Oz talking about a date they had had the night before. They saw a movie and enjoyed each others’ company! Aw, those sweet kids. Willow still REALLY wants to make out, though; Oz continues to hold back, and we see why. Willow … Continue reading Xander Sucks, But This Time On Purpose, A BTVS Retrospective, S2 E15-16

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! Buffy, Willow, and Xander are at school filling out a test to decide what kind of job they will be best at. Is this a real thing? I see this in fiction a lot, but my school never did this. Also, it’s apparently optional here, as Buffy notes the principal is making her do it. See, man? This guy … Continue reading Sometimes There Are 2-Parters: A BTVS Retrospective, S2 E9-10

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! Episode 7 kicks off with Drusilla out and about on her own. She acts up a typical Drusilla storm of seeming like she is drugged and would rather be doing anything else in the world than be on set as she gets ready to chow down on a kid she finds waiting for his parents. Angel intervenes to save … Continue reading Spike Is A Clown: A BTVS Retrospective: S2 E7-8

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! After having episodes 3 (great!) and 4 (terrible!) back to back, I have no idea what to expect from this show anymore. These two episodes could have quality levels of virtually anything, and I’d be like “Yeah, that makes sense, sure”. I’m very curious as to where we go in this pair. The second season’s fifth episode kicks off … Continue reading Oh no, Xander Sucks Again: A BtVS Retrospective: S2 Episodes 5-6

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! We start off in school, and GOD I can’t wait for these kids to graduate and get out of this setting already. Principal Snyder is here with Buffy and another heretofore unseen student named Sheila. According to Snyder, these two are the worst students in SunnyDale… and he is going to expel one of them. So he does what … Continue reading A Promise of Railroad Spikes: A BTVS Retrospective, S2 E3-4

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! Hey, it’s time for Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 2! It almost can’t possibly be worse than season 1, a dozen episodes of poor writing, mostly bad jokes, and insipid threats. And that one episode where the FBI just barges in like they just ran in from the ending of Monty Python & The Holy Grail! But hey, at … Continue reading It’s A New Season: A BTVS Retrospective, S2, Eps 1-2

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! We sees Cordelia and two of her friends walking through the halls of the school to open the penultimate episode of the first season. They quite literally bump into Buffy, causing the latter to spill her assortment of medieval weaponry to the floor. Buffy makes a lame excuse for why she has them, but Cordy just makes fun of … Continue reading Xander Is Less Awful: A BTVS Retrospective, Eps 11-12

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! As we near the end of season one, we are in the throes of some very important goings-on… like the SunnyDale High School Talent Show! We start off with more picking on Cordelia as we see her trying to sing, but being abjectly terrible at it. For some reason, Giles is hosting the talent show, and does this school … Continue reading Xander Is The Worst: A BtVS Retrospective, Eps 9-10
