Descended from giant mutant Earth pandas, a thousand years in the future, Panda Khan is the Samurai ruler of a genetically improved tribe of battlin’ bears. Leaving his alien world in search of great adventure, Khan boarded a Tong pirate ship and using the ancient art of Ting Zing Pao, time-traveled to Earth, 1990. Landing in the sewers, Panda Khan linked up with the Turtles … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: TMNT (Panda Khan, Sgt. Bananas & Walkabout)

Welcome back to more TMNT commentary! This time I tackle the two most ludicrously overpriced toys in the entire line, infamous because not only are they hideous figures, but they’re worth an absolute FORTUNE! It’s a very funny situation that pops up due to the quirks of the toy collector industry: Great toys from forgotten lines are worth only a pittance, while lame toys from … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: TMNT (Scratch & Hot Spot- The Overpriced Duo)

Time for more TMNT commentary! With some of the goofiest, most forgotten characters in the line! The home team advantage goes to Halfcourt, the jumpshot jammin’ giraffe. With his beehive basketball pumped and primed, Halfcourt’s ready for some rough one-on-one action with any Foot fool who dares to come out ‘n play. Halfcourt’ll pump ’em up with his tire pump pistol and dribble ’em straight … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: TMNT (Halfcourt, Doctor El, Monty Moose & Sandstorm- The “Late In the Line” Guys)

THE SHREDDER:-Hilariously, the character so integral to the origin of the TMNT was a guy they killed off in the first issue- they had him show up, challenge the boys, who got revenge for their master by killing him. Shredder had a backstory involving Hamato Yoshi- a kindly martial artist. Splinter, Yoshi’s pet rat, watched his master die at Oroku Saki’s hands, and when he … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: TMNT (The Shredder!)

Welcome back to more Sailor Stars reviews! This time we FINALLY see Sailor Uranus & Neptune show up again! Then we see the final episode for Sailor Iron Mouse… and the much-dreaded debut of CHIBI-CHIBI, who was one of the least-liked Sailor Moon characters to the ’90s fandom (who of course had mostly only heard ABOUT her, not actually seen her). EPISODE #180: And finally… … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: Sailor Stars (Episodes #180-182)

Hey all! Welcome back to more TMNT commentary! This week, I have a theme going of “1980s Cartoon Recurring Supporting Characters”, as we get the Channel 6 crew (part of April O’Neil’s coworkers), plus the uber, UBER 1980s Neutrinos. Channel 6 is on the air – and Irma’s on the hunt for news. She may be April’s best friend, but she’s out to scoop her … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: TMNT (The Channel 6 Crew & The Neutrinos)

More Sailor Stars! This time the other two Sailor Starlights get some focus. EPISODE #176:  School test shenanigans are afoof, as Usagi, Minako AND Seiya fail their tests and need to do make-ups, but Seiya’s ALSO struggling with a stage director, who criticizes his entire performance. Meanwhile, Rei continues her “teleports straight to Juuban High” gimmick, while now copying the “Noblewoman Laugh” anime cliché as … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: Sailor Stars (Episodes #176-179)

Like these douches? You better- the creators fall in love with them and they run away with the spotlight for weeks at a time. Hey, we’re back! And now I finally reach the final, FINAL arc of the 200-episode series, as we hit the “Sailor Starlights/Galaxia” arc! The entire nature of the show shifts from this point out- this ends up being one of the … Continue reading Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars (Episodes #173-175)

Welcome back to more Sailor Stars reviews! The series is now in its last season, but has oddly brought back the villain from the PRIOR one, having found the way she went out disappointing. This is probably one of the most well-thought-of arcs left to go, and is the only time we see the entirety of the Sailor Senshi fight as a unit! So let’s … Continue reading Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars (Episodes #170-172)

The return of Nehalennia. Welcome back! And it’s time now for the very, very last season of Sailor Moon, as I delve into Sailor Stars! This one is the season I know by far the least about- final notes hadn’t quite been made of it when I first got into the fandom, and later on, the fansites had kinda disappeared and I wasn’t as obsessed … Continue reading Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars (Episodes #167-169)

BROTHER BEAR (2003):Written by: Tab Murphy, Lorne Cameron, David Hoselton, Steve Bencich & Ron J. Friedman -I figured “what the hell?” and rented this one- it’s one of the latter-day Disney films, and didn’t do to well or get very well-received, but it’s… okay. Ish. It basically has some cool set pieces and one VERY awesome transformation sequence that reminds you how mind-blowing this studio is, but … Continue reading Jab’s Disney Reviews: Brother Bear

It’s the halfway point of the year, and with it, the 50% marker of my journey to 300 movies watched within the span of January 1st 2022 to December 31st 2022. It’s almost quaint to remember this started as a mission to 250 when the year changed and I saw I’d surpassed 200 total movies watched in 2021. It wasn’t until I saw my numbers … Continue reading Stew’s June 2022 Movie Log

So we’ve once again hit a point where I wasn’t watching much Disney (I was away at college and mostly renting older stuff at this point). And most of these reviewed HORRIBLY, so I made no attempt to go see them. HOME ON THE RANGE (2004):Written by: Will Finn, John Sanford, Michael LaBash, Sam Levine, Mark Kennedy & Robert Lence -One of the most forgotten Disney … Continue reading Jab’s Disney Reviews: Home on the Range, Chicken Little & Meet the Robinsons
