New York Comic Con 2025: The Video Interview Collection!

I recently had the good fortune to be invited to New York Comic Con as press, so I packed up and headed to New York (actually New Jersey because riding the ferry rules) for a long weekend away. I met up with the incomparable Joey DiCarlo and Aubrey Litchfield from So Wizard Podcast, we set about interviewing as many amazing talents as we could for their YouTube page. Today, we are going to start sharing those interviews with you!

First up is our meeting with Timur Bekmambetov, the director behind such renowned movies as WantedNight Watch, and Day Watch. He talked to us about his newest picture, Mercy!

Next up we have our discussion with Charles Ardai, the co-founder of Hard Case Crime. We talked about that and his comic series, Gun Honey!

And next for today, we talked to Joe Simko and Ira Friedman about their all-ages comic title, Craniacs!

Next up is our talk with Jim Zub, who is currently up to his neck in Conan The Barbarian material!

Next up is our discussion with Dani Diaz for their book, Dreamover, a lovely tale about two eighth graders discovering first love… and a lot more!

And then for today’s edition of our NYCC ’25 coverage, we have our conversation with Tom Scioli, who has worked on projects like Fantastic Four: Grand Design. He is here to promote Godzilla’s Monsterpiece Theater!

Up next is our discussion with Erin Lefler. You may know Erin’s work from across the Marvel or Star Wars universes, but she has also done work for Hot Topic, too! And most notably, she does fundraising for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which we talk about in depth in this interview!

We also spoke with Jon Allen, the creator behind the IDW comic The Well. I devoured The Well, despite its size, in just two days, and I was eager to talk to him about his work. Check out our interview!

Additionally, we were invited into the Bandai/Namco booth to talk about their big New York Comic Con reveals and unveilings! I spoke with Brian Chen about what the entertainment juggernaut had to offer for the convention goers!

And finally, during New York Comic Con, we took in a panel for the upcoming movie Mala. Mala blends Indian and American cinema sensibilities, and it was the first ever panel for Indian pop culture in New York Comic Con history!

After the panel, we were lucky enough to be invited to attend a media round table where we were able to speak to a lot of the talent from both behind and in front of the camera! So check out our interviews with some of the talent from Mala:

And that was our trip to New York Comic Con 2025! We hope you enjoyed our interviews!

Until next time… take care!
