So the Stew invited me back for this very timely article, and I’m very happy that they did. You see, the last time we did this and put our articles up for vote as to who’s was best, well, I humbly won. Now, do I expect to win again you may ask? I answer with a resounding- Yes. Yes I do. Ok, now that that’s … Continue reading Top Ten: Fictional Mothers (by THE PINT!)
Time for April’s movie round up! FIRST TIME WATCHES: Night’s End, My Cousin Vinny, Near Dark, Color Out Of Space, Evil Dead, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Summer Of ’84 Night’s End is a 3.5 on the pure enjoyability scale and not necessarily on the quality scale. Although actually, for a while, it’s a really decent thriller. The story is of a shut-in who is … Continue reading 2022 Movie Log: April

When I thought of doing this list, it seemed like it would be… exactly as hard as it ended up being. But for the opposite reason as the one that ended up proving true. I figured there would be about five really strong contenders, and then I’d be filling out the list with two-star flicks I enjoy in a more guilty manner. I couldn’t have … Continue reading Top Ten Parts 3 In A Franchise
Okay, it’s another pair of “Disney movies Jab hasn’t actually seen”, so this will serve the purpose more of documenting the strange early days of Disney’s CGI animation attempts. It has been a long time since I was as excited to see a movie–a NON-comic-book-movie, I should clarify–as I was to see Everything Everywhere All At Once. And honestly? I really shouldn’t have been, based just upon history. EEAAO was released by A24, and that is a studio I’ve been all over the map on with my feelings, but the only thing I’ve truly … Continue reading Everything Everywhere All At Once Review
There’s no level of talking down enough that I can do to lower your expectations far enough that when you see my list, you will think, “Well, it’s not THAT bad”. It’s going to be very, very bad. There’s no disagreement. We are in this together! Here is where I have to be honest with you: I am neither a liar nor a panderer. When … Continue reading Top Ten: Academy Award Best Picture Winners
I wrote this list before Phase 4 of the MCU started because I was saving it for when I set up my new site schedule in April 2022. But I wanted to get a headstart, so I was making and starting lists several months ago. That was dumb! I had to edit it TWICE throughout Phase 4 to kick two movies off the bottom and … Continue reading Top Ten: Movies in the MCU
YES GOD YES When I first started watching Karen Marie’s “Yes God Yes”, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. A friend on Twitter (@filmgal) had recommended it, and she and I seem to have pretty similar tastes in cinema. Well, I have to say, I was not let down! Yes God Yes is a fantastic examination of the Catholic Church and some of the … Continue reading Jeremy’s Recent Movie Reviews
This was finally a big month for new releases on my part. Prior to March, I think I’d only seen two movies actually released IN 2022. I know I follow some other folks that had already been up to thirty new releases this year, and… wow. I have no idea where they are finding things to watch. Very little has caught me eye so far … Continue reading 2022 Movie Log: March
MULAN (1998): Written by: Robert D. San Souci, Rita Hsiao, Chris Sanders, Philip LaZebnik, Rymond Singer, Eugenia Bostwick Singer, Dean DeBlois, John Sanford, Tim Hodge, Burny Mattinson, Barry Johnson, Ed Gombert & Chris Williams Mulan is one of the last movies of the Disney Renaissance, and is rather more popular than many of the “Late Renaissance” movies- it’s definitely done better and been considered better than Hunchback, Pocahontas and Hercules, in … Continue reading Jab’s Disney Reviews: Mulan (animated)
Batman may not have any sneaky heat missiles, but Sir Richard Dean Girt III joins Stew to discuss Batman (1989)!

HERCULES (1997) Written by: Ron Clements, John Musker & Barry Johnson Ahhhhh HERCULES. This one’s a funny one for me, because at the time I HATED IT, largely due to the bastardization of Greek Mythology (it’s easier to define what they got RIGHT than what they got WRONG, and basically it’s that Hercules was the son of Zeus, killed some of the same monsters, hooked up with … Continue reading Jab’s Disney Reviews: Hercules
