But why though? I saw the latest season of Cobra Kai back in January and I guess I just got the hankering to watch the originals. Like most guys my age, I saw the movies as a kid, I really liked them, and then I moved on to other things. I know a lot of people have continued to watch these movies long after the … Continue reading For the First Time In Years, I Watched the Karate Kid Trilogy Again
So the Stew invited me back for this very timely article, and I’m very happy that they did. You see, the last time we did this and put our articles up for vote as to who’s was best, well, I humbly won. Now, do I expect to win again you may ask? I answer with a resounding- Yes. Yes I do. Ok, now that that’s … Continue reading Top Ten: Fictional Mothers (by THE PINT!)
There’s no level of talking down enough that I can do to lower your expectations far enough that when you see my list, you will think, “Well, it’s not THAT bad”. It’s going to be very, very bad. There’s no disagreement. We are in this together! Here is where I have to be honest with you: I am neither a liar nor a panderer. When … Continue reading Top Ten: Academy Award Best Picture Winners
I wrote this list before Phase 4 of the MCU started because I was saving it for when I set up my new site schedule in April 2022. But I wanted to get a headstart, so I was making and starting lists several months ago. That was dumb! I had to edit it TWICE throughout Phase 4 to kick two movies off the bottom and … Continue reading Top Ten: Movies in the MCU
YES GOD YES When I first started watching Karen Marie’s “Yes God Yes”, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. A friend on Twitter (@filmgal) had recommended it, and she and I seem to have pretty similar tastes in cinema. Well, I have to say, I was not let down! Yes God Yes is a fantastic examination of the Catholic Church and some of the … Continue reading Jeremy’s Recent Movie Reviews
This was finally a big month for new releases on my part. Prior to March, I think I’d only seen two movies actually released IN 2022. I know I follow some other folks that had already been up to thirty new releases this year, and… wow. I have no idea where they are finding things to watch. Very little has caught me eye so far … Continue reading 2022 Movie Log: March

I mentioned in January that by month’s end, I was on pace to see 300 movies in the 2022 calendar year. Of course, there was NO WAY I was going to keep that pace up. It’s ridiculous! Clearly I have better things to do than watch movies! I’d obviously settle down to a 250 pace–still intense!–and be fine. Right? Well, as of the end of … Continue reading 2022 Movie Log: February
JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS: Behold, the embodiment of the entire 1980s. The Transformers is the mightiest toy-selling cartoon of all time, and G.I. Joe is probably the best overall, but Jem will always have my heart. See, where alot of these shows come from the epitome of animation that was the ’80s, very few of them actually LOOK “’80s”. Sure, there’s Ghetto Blasters (better known as Boom-Boxes these days…. or … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: Jem & The Holograms
Phew, what a heavy ride this film is! This is not by any means a “feel good” film. It’s a rough, take no prisoners, assault on the emotions. Not just for one character either. Basically every lead character has a defining arc of pain and loss throughout the entire film. Speaking of characters, what an incredible cast Jane Campion has assembled! Benedict Cumberbatch (Phil) and … Continue reading “The Power of the Dog” review

I watched over 200 movies in the year 2021, easily and happily meeting the goal I had set for myself. I am… not going to rank every movie I saw this year. That would be really hard. And by that I mean, I might get bored and do it eventually because I am lame and have literally NO NEW YEAR’S EVE PLANS. So what else … Continue reading 2021 New Releases [I Saw], Ranked! (Part 1)
I did it. Two-hundred movies across the year 2021. Individually, 215 movies and about 220 total viewings when you factor in the flicks I saw twice, one of which was Jason X because EVERYONE should watch Jason X twice a year. He just wanted his machete back. I should have a better goal for 2022, but…I really like movies, man. Like I should… write 12,000 … Continue reading Entertainment Rex: December 2021 Part 2
