FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! We don’t really OPEN with Buffy, Faith, and Giles out hunting–there is an opening sequence of no import with the gang at The Bronze–but it is the first relevant thing that happens. Giles just chills out while his two slayers go to town, and… why do the vampires always leave him alone when he is out with them? Isn’t he … Continue reading NFL Films Presents: A BTVS Retrospective, S3 E7-8
NOTE: SPOILERS HEREIN FOR PAST LIVES! It took me a while to warm up to A24. I remember prior to Everything Everywhere All At Once, I had not yet knowingly been wow’ed by anything the studio distributed. I mostly just thought of A24 as the company that valued style over substance. Their movies generally looked good, but I tended to think the stories were often … Continue reading Past Lives Review

Farrell Creed briskly walked through the juvenile detention center to Miss Trudy’s office. The halls were empty due to the rest of the boys in the block being sent on a trip. Trudy personally asked for him to remain which excited him as he liked the way Miss Trudy made him feel. She listened to him and understood his anger which was rare for most … Continue reading AP Productions: Winghaven #13

As I sit here in the basement of my house where I do most of my writing, movie watching, gaming, and… everything I guess… (Don’t judge; it’s cooler down here, and my wife and I have very differing ideas on how warm a house needs to be) …I realize I am surrounded by comics and comic memorabilia. Art prints on the wall behind me. Framed … Continue reading Stan Lee (DisneyPlus) Review
NOTE: Light spoilers for The Blackening! With The Blackening on June 16th, I have hit 50 new release movies seen so far this year! Well on my way to 100, my target for the year. This is after I blew right through my goal of 300 movies total in 2022! Movie-watching goals are fun and are in no way weirdly obsessive or time-consuming or distracting … Continue reading The Blackening Review
NOTE: This article will contain light spoilers for Brooklyn 45 It has been a somewhat rough year for Shudder exclusives/originals. To this point in the year, I only have two of their movies ranking even somewhat highly for me on my 2023 New Releases ranking. There is, of course, Skinamarink, which I reviewed a few months ago. And then there is the batshit crazy Spoonful … Continue reading Brooklyn 45 Review

FOR PREVIOUS BUFFY REVIEWS, CLICK HERE! Season three starts off with the gang attempting to pick up an M.I.A. Buffy’s slack by hunting vampires, but… they are not particularly good at it. They are good enough to not die! But not to actually defeat any bloodsuckers. Their dialogue alerts us to the fact that school starts back up tomorrow. Buffy’s been gone all summer! Didn’t … Continue reading It’s Pet Sematary Now: A BTVS Retrospective, S3 E1-2
NOTE: This article will contain some light spoiler material for The Boogeyman Based on an older short story by Stephen King! Actually, the way this flick was first advertised, I thought this was maybe a new plot from Stephen King–I was sure he was not the screenwriter–but upon further research, it is actually based on a previous work of his, published in Night Shift way … Continue reading The Boogeyman Review
