What am I even doing right now? I forgot already. Let’s look up at the title of this article again… oh, right! Gimmick matches! Got it. Let’s start the show! 5. Falls Count Anywhere Starting off really basic before we get to the more convoluted match types that I love, FCA is a bout that I usually get a kick out of. Much moreso than … Continue reading Top Five: Wrestling Gimmick Matches
Top 10 Franchises: According to Paul from The Countdown: Movie and TV Reviews! (On Twitter!) I’m used to making lists. I do it every week on my show with my co-host Wayne, and we manage to talk for at least an hour about our choices. But I can’t imagine how long writing out an hour’s worth of talk would be, so I’m going to make this short and … Continue reading Top Ten: Movie Franchises (by THE COUNTDOWN!)
Hey everyone! This is Ken M from the ODPH podcast, better known as the Ocho Duro Parlay Hour, and for this GotS top 10 challenge, we’re talking best movie franchises. In all of Hollywood’s history, to get 3 or more quality films out of an idea/concept/story can be more of a challenge that you think. For my list, I broke down my criteria for what makes a great … Continue reading Top Ten: Movie Franchises (by the #ODPH!)
Franchises. No, not… I mean, MOVIE franchises. Why make one good movie when you can make somewhere between three and a hundred movies of varying quality, right? Hollywood is ON BOARD with this notion. If a movie is released to more than 2000 theaters nationwide, you can almost bet someone behind it all envisions it becoming a sprawling film empire. As someone who grew up … Continue reading Top Ten: Movie Franchises
BEST MOVIE FRANCHISES By Andrew Morgan, Host of The NOMCAST – Netflix Original Movie Podcast (@jokesondrew / @nomcastpod / Nomcastpod.com) With the inception of the “Summer Blockbuster” with Jaws in 1975, the movie industry changed forever. Prior to Jaws, most major film releases came out during the Winter months when most people would go to the movies (especially in the Northeast to escape those terrible winters or your relatives … Continue reading Top Ten: Movie Franchises (by THE NOMCAST!)
I don’t actually call the Friday The 13th movies “Friday The 13th”. I mean… I know that’s the name of the Franchise, but it just doesn’t work for me. They’re “Jason Movies”. They’ve always been “Jason Movies” to me, and they always will be “Jason Movies” to me. Even when a startling number of them don’t have… you know… Jason in them. That’s weird. But … Continue reading Ranking The Friday The 13th Franchise Movies
I’ve been itching to cover this particular idea for a while now. I love fights and I love the funny, but comics are best to me when they make you FEEL. I remember reading the last issue of the six-part Spectacular Spider-Man series “The Child Within” as a boy and being struck because it was different than what I thought comics could do. I was … Continue reading The Top Five: Tear-Jerker Moments In Comics
This week we’re turning heel and delving into best assortments of villains in all of comics! A dictionary that I didn’t actually bother looking at presumably defines a villain as “the kind of person you chill like” and a gallery as “a place with… art, right? I don’t know“. But in the world of comic books, a line-up of villains–or rogues gallery–is the collection ne’er-do-wells … Continue reading Top Five: Rogues Galleries In Comics
Trick or Treat! We’ve already covered our Top Ten Halloween Franchise Flicks and our Top Ten Horror Movie Monsters. What else could we do as we approach Halloween? I’ll be honest… candy is a borderline passion of mine. I still eat candy like a nine-year who lives in a world where it’s Halloween every day. It’s a habit I’m TRYING to break as I approach … Continue reading Top Ten: Candy
When it comes to ranking the 10 scariest movie monsters the challenge is separating themonsters from the humans. Because, while tons of humans behave monstrously or becomesupernatural monsters by magic or sheer will, they are/were nonetheless human.I believe it’s cheating to put some seriously scary human characters like Michael Meyers(Halloween) or Jason Voorhees in this category because while they are excellent movie villains, they don’t quite … Continue reading Book Of Lies’ Top Ten Horror Movie Monsters!
I have had a long love/hate relationship with horror movies. I have written on my previous site in some depth about my history with horror flicks, and I will be revisiting those articles from the archive soon enough (as in: HERE’S the first one). The abbreviated backstory is this: I was RAISED on awful 80’s slashers. When I was [single-digits] years old, my mom, dad, … Continue reading Top Ten: Horror Movie Monsters/Villains
I really dug Wolverine as a kid. I can actually remember why that was even the case. At the first inkling that I was going to start getting into comics, my dad told me that Wolverine was a great character, and that I should follow his and the X-Men’s adventures. This is unusual to me because I don’t even recall my dad ever liking Wolverine … Continue reading The First Five
