ENCHANTED (2007):Written by: Bill Kelly & Ron Howard (yes, that one)-This one’s a bit funny, in that it’s a cutesy parody of Princess Movies… that basically also plays them straight, to the point where it actually revolutionized and restarted the entire Disney Princess genre! Some of the gags are pretty good, and there’s some WONDERFUL over-acting from Jason Marsden & Susan Sarandon (who is looking way … Continue reading Jab’s Disney Reviews: Enchanted
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has a very long title. It’s almost as long as the movie’s runtime, but… we’ll get to that in a bit. The newest Hunger Games movie is a prequel to the last four, all starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, and takes place about 65 years before Katniss’ adventure ever starts. If you’ve seen those movies … Continue reading THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES REVIEW
“So how did you know there was a fire?” the reporter asked. “I just woke up `cause I smelled smoke,” Dante told her, “Then I woke up my mom and dad and my sis and I was like, ‘we gotta get our asses outta here’. Then we started knocking on all the doors and left the apartment building, then we called the fire department. They … Continue reading AP Productions: Upstarts #5
We kick things off at Mount Justice, and with a very melancholy Young Justice team struggling with the effects of last episode when they all believed they died in that weird-ass training exercise. The League has brought in Black Canary to act as a therapist for the team, and… is she trained for that? That’s a weird choice! I feel like they used her just … Continue reading Finally Harm Has Come Back To Young Justice: A YJ Retrospective, S1 E17-18
CHAPTER 9: Three Years Ago… The press corps that had gathered outside Amherst College was unlike anything the school’s President had ever seen up close and in person before. Victoria Werther had done some speeches in her day while in charge of the school, but she mostly spoke before a sparse arrangement of local C-team crews. Four cameras, bored reporters—if they were even sent with … Continue reading The Chosen: Chapter 9
What is this, my…third consecutive DC book? And the two before this stretch were both independent books? I know how the internet works! Accusation of anti-Marvel bias is going to kick in any minute now! Actually, throughout my history here, I have taken pride in maintaining something close to a one-to-one ratio of Marvel-to-DC books (with the odd indie books sprinkled in and my whole … Continue reading Stew’s Reviews: Power Girl
Alexis and Kaley sat beside the pool in swimwear and shades. After the failure of the previous day, the Upstarts were ready to relax between scenes of challenges and games. “So where are the boys?,” Kaley asked. “Think they’re inside. Or not. Either way, they’re not out here acting a fool,” Alexis answered. “Yeah, shit got heated yesterday. Did you see Kyle and Mutt when … Continue reading AP Productions: Upstarts #4

Questionable streaming choices. When you make it your personal mission to watch at least 100 new releases movies over the course of a year, you have to accept they won’t all–they CAN’T all–be big budget theatrical releases. So you–or I in this case, I mean this is about me, let’s not be coy–end up watching a lot of movies released exclusively on various streaming services. … Continue reading Night Of The Hunted Review
WEEK SIX The Upstarts spent a large part of their day making posts on a variety of social media platforms expressing their thoughts about the Neutronium process, on each other and whatever was happening in the news with all posts being approved by the PR team. Da Mutt wrote a post about Kyle which read, “Hustle is salty about literally everything” while Kyle tweeted back, … Continue reading AP Productions: Upstarts #3

NOTE: Spoilers within for Five Nights At Freddy’s! I feel like it’s impossible to talk about Five Nights At Freddy’s without also discussing Willy’s Wonderland. Willy’s Wonderland hilariously beat Five Nights At Freddy’s to film by years, giving us a segment of movie fans who believe that the new Freddy’s movie is a rip-off of the low-budget Nicholas Cage bizzaro flick about his silent protagonist … Continue reading Five Nights At Freddy’s Review
Time for another WWE Premium Live Event from across the ocean with a strange starting time, this one of 1:00pm EST. And on my birthday weekend no less. I suppose that’s actually good; it frees up my evening to do the… um… nothing. Nothing that I have planned. I have no plans. Woo? That’s fine. I’m fine. This is FINE. I have 800 things to … Continue reading WWE Crown Jewel Review
Dante laid in the filtration chamber wearing a latex body stocking and waiting for the process to begin. A song played over the speakers that he recognized from when he was a child but he couldn’t remember the name of the song or who sang it (that was mostly due to the sedatives). There were long, glowing tubes on either side of him, emitting bright … Continue reading AP Productions: Upstarts #2
