NOTE: SPOILERS HEREIN FOR PAST LIVES! It took me a while to warm up to A24. I remember prior to Everything Everywhere All At Once, I had not yet knowingly been wow’ed by anything the studio distributed. I mostly just thought of A24 as the company that valued style over substance. Their movies generally looked good, but I tended to think the stories were often … Continue reading Past Lives Review
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Wait, is that… this isn’t that holiday, is it? Well, whatever; I found a store that was recently selling this flavor of Pop-Tarts, and while they feel like a holdover from the holiday season several months ago at this point, they are the Tarts I have for this holiday! (Yes, these were definitely held onto for a while; this box expires THIS MONTH … Continue reading Pop-Tart Quest: Gingerbread
I have had a cold for 14 days. It’s not great! Five days ago, I had completely lost my voice, but luckily I regained enough of it to be able to semi-successfully podcast last night. But we recorded essentially two whole shows, and the end of the night, I was done. Can’t wait to listen to those segments and see how abominable I sounded. Especially … Continue reading Stew’s Reviews: The Child Within

The young men pulled on masks resembling yellow smiley faces. One was designated the Camera Man and wore a go-pro on the side of his mask, which livestreamed their night on a private forum. Once they found their prey, they leapt out … Continue reading AP Productions: Cavalier #15
THE TRICERATONS:-The Triceratons are a Mirage original, and have shown in up nearly every ongoing TMNT continuity, typically as a massive interstellar empire of Triceratops-Men. They seem to be an expanding empire there, but grow to respect the Turtles. In the 2003 Toon, the Triceraton Republic was founded on pride and order, but had fallen into a dictatorship under a new leader. They attempt to hunt Fugitoid … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: TMNT (The Triceratons)
CHAPTER 7: Four Years Ago… Dwight Quinn was reluctant to meet his lifetime best friend, Beau Grant. Even if they had arranged to get together at their favorite bar—Mulligan’s Green, the sports-themed watering hole where they’d been going ever since they turned twenty-one during their days at the University of Houston—nothing felt like it used to be now. They had spent the first thirty-seven years … Continue reading The Chosen, Chapter 7

Farrell Creed briskly walked through the juvenile detention center to Miss Trudy’s office. The halls were empty due to the rest of the boys in the block being sent on a trip. Trudy personally asked for him to remain which excited him as he liked the way Miss Trudy made him feel. She listened to him and understood his anger which was rare for most … Continue reading AP Productions: Winghaven #13
“Winghaven? What the hell?” Kim took a closer look at her GPS in an attempt to see how they got lost. Wally woke up in the passenger seat and fumbled while putting on his glasses, “What’s wrong?” They were currently parked on the side of the road next to a swamp; it was night now and there didn’t appear to be any residences nearby. “We … Continue reading AP Productions: Astra Machina #4

As I sit here in the basement of my house where I do most of my writing, movie watching, gaming, and… everything I guess… (Don’t judge; it’s cooler down here, and my wife and I have very differing ideas on how warm a house needs to be) …I realize I am surrounded by comics and comic memorabilia. Art prints on the wall behind me. Framed … Continue reading Stan Lee (DisneyPlus) Review
They peered through the bay doors at the blue horizon and the clouds below. They were high enough that there weren’t any winds but they were still within Earth’s atmosphere. Astra still carried the damaged limb from the Skaleen armor. “First, I’ll probably need a little more mass,” Astra used her nanobots to turn the armored limb in her hands into liquid-metal and absorbed the … Continue reading AP Productions: Astra Machina #3
NOTE: Light spoilers for The Blackening! With The Blackening on June 16th, I have hit 50 new release movies seen so far this year! Well on my way to 100, my target for the year. This is after I blew right through my goal of 300 movies total in 2022! Movie-watching goals are fun and are in no way weirdly obsessive or time-consuming or distracting … Continue reading The Blackening Review
NOTE: This article will contain light spoilers for Brooklyn 45 It has been a somewhat rough year for Shudder exclusives/originals. To this point in the year, I only have two of their movies ranking even somewhat highly for me on my 2023 New Releases ranking. There is, of course, Skinamarink, which I reviewed a few months ago. And then there is the batshit crazy Spoonful … Continue reading Brooklyn 45 Review
