Jab’s Legion of Super-Heroes Reviews: Wildfire & Dawnstar

Seriously, why does anyone screw with the Cockrum design? LOOK AT IT! Wildfire- Best Legionnaire:-Wildfire exploded onto the scene in the Dave Cockrum-designed ’70s Legion, and pretty much overnight became one of the most popular characters, even though he DIED in his first issue. He sacrificed himself to save the team, revealing his “forbidden” unique power- a suicide attack that left his suit an empty … Continue reading Jab’s Legion of Super-Heroes Reviews: Wildfire & Dawnstar

Stew’s Reviews: Monstress

What I have discovered about myself is that I have a very love/hate relationship with independent comic books.  The ones that I enjoyed in the last few years, I have tended to love. Even when I have only read the first trade or two so far, I have found titles like Saga and Sex Criminals that I am eager to read more of whenever I … Continue reading Stew’s Reviews: Monstress

The Exorcism Review

Hey guys, do you know how weird it is that Russell Crowe is doing another Exorcism movie already? He just did The Pope’s Exorcist! Yeah, I’m not going to be that guy and make too big of a deal out of that–admittedly striking–similarity between two of Crowe’s biggest recent releases. It’s strange, sure, but he takes the roles that he takes, and I’m sure he … Continue reading The Exorcism Review

Lisa Frankenstein Review

I remain the whitest person you know, don’t worry. After a two-for at the local AMC theater where I saw Lisa Frankenstein and Argylle back-to-back, I was absolutely starving. Turns out that going through two feature length movies without eating is just more than a fatty like I can bear mid-day. Driving home at a little after 10pm, I was on the hunt for some … Continue reading Lisa Frankenstein Review

AP Productions: The Cavalier #26

The Shit-town Saga: Midnight Rider part 4 Michael had been parking outside the home of Officer Drake on and off for a few days, hoping to catch him at the right time. He was in his civilian attire and driving his usual car; it was unusual for Michael doing “night work” without being suited-up but he felt comfortable and since he was having trouble finding … Continue reading AP Productions: The Cavalier #26

Stew’s Reviews: Mystique

Welcome back, friends. I hope you’re all having a good week and are ready for another classic comic review here at Stew’s Reviews! I was doing some research for today’s article when I found out that Brian K Vaughan is about four years older than I am. And given how old some of his more famous works are… that is legitimately depressing. He has accomplished … Continue reading Stew’s Reviews: Mystique

Frogman Review

The croaks are no hoax! Frogman hops onto SCREAMBOX exclusively on June 7. The ribbiting found footage curio explores the local legend of an amphibious cryptid. “These croaks are no hoax”. You see, that’s how you sell a movie to me. That’s some great “bad” writing there. It’s so good, it almost made me miss “[t]he ribbeting found footage curio…”. Come on! Someone went all … Continue reading Frogman Review

AP Productions: The Cavalier #25

The Shit-town Saga: Midnight Rider part 3 Commissioner Reins removed the trash bag from the kitchen as his wife loaded the dishwasher. “Mikala said she needed money for books this semester,” his wife told him as she loaded the final plate. “How much?,” he finished tying up the bag. “Eighty.” “Damn, did they raise prices again?” “The campus took a lot of damage from the … Continue reading AP Productions: The Cavalier #25

Here For Blood Review

A gory throwback to video store staples of the ’80s and ’90s, SCREAMBOX Original wrestling-fueled horror-comedy Here for Blood will invade select theaters, digital, and SCREAMBOX on February 9. The last time I saw a wrestling-inspired horror flick, I ended up with Pro Wrestlers Versus Zombies. And I really wanted to like it, what with its cast and all. I was a huge Shane Douglas … Continue reading Here For Blood Review

Darkness Of Man Review

Remember, like, fifteen years ago when Jean-Claude Van Damme starred in the fictional portrayal of his life, JCVD? It was supposed to be a renaissance for the actor where he would start taking more serious roles and begin getting more respect. There was actual, legitimate talk that Van Damme–JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME–could someday be an awards-worthy actor (it’s arguable that he deserved to be awarded for … Continue reading Darkness Of Man Review

Baltimore Comic Con 2024 Review

This past weekend, I made the four hour trip down to Baltimore for the 25th edition of the Baltimore Comic Con. It was my first time ever visiting Baltimore for their annual convention; I had previously only ever been to the city for AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view event in 2019. My visits to The Old Line State are typically at the other end of it … Continue reading Baltimore Comic Con 2024 Review
