Welcome back to third part of this series. Last time, in the Jessica Jones entry, I briefly mentioned Mike Colter’s Luke Cage but I held off talking about him too much since I would be getting more in-depth in this one. Luke Cage has been around since the 70’s and while several voice actors have played him in various cartoons, Mike Colter is the only … Continue reading Netflix Marvel Retrospective – Luke Cage Season 1
We’re back for more! Episode #135: The Amazon Trio & Zirconia discuss the nature of Pegasus, and how the creature that manifests in reality is but a “shadow” of the real creature. … Continue reading Jab’s Reviews: Sailor Moon SuperS (135-136)

And now we come to… the absolute most BORING thing Image produced during the 1990s. Like, seriously- while Brigade , Youngblood , Strykeforce and everything else were god-awful piffle, they’re at least ENTERTAININGLY bad. You can have a lot of fun ripping on Liefeld or Silvestri’s absurdities or lack of originality. But StormWatch ? It’s just the most generic “This is a superhero book about superheroes” thing ever- like those bad Indie comics … Continue reading Jab’s Image Deep Dive: Stormwatch and The Authority!
It’s weird that it’s taken so long to get here. A hundred-plus comic reviews. Dozens upon dozens of articles on the genre. Lists of all sorts. And I’ve never just sat down and written up a list of my ten favorite comic book characters? That’s not entirely true. On the Ghosts of the Stratosphere podcast, there is a “lost” episode that will never air. It … Continue reading Top Ten: Favorite Comic Book Heroes
*NOTE: The middle section of this article will contain spoilers, and I’ll delineate where they start and end!* Is there any Halloween movie more divisive than the 2018 outing that reset the franchise to another timeline–its FIFTH if you count the Rob Zombie and Halloween 3 portions of the multiverse!–and started a new Michael Myers trilogy? When it comes to discussing the Halloween movies, there … Continue reading Halloween Kills Review

Guys, my house is a wreck. We have started decorating for Halloween and getting everything spookified, but the interior of the house constantly looks like a bomb went off. We are not an organized people. This isn’t even related to the decorations; it’s just the constant state of our home! We always have these designs on “Oh, we’ll do a little cleaning each weekend, and … Continue reading Entertainment Rex: October 2021
OLIVER AND COMPANY (1988): Written by: Charles Dickens (original story), Vance Gerry, Roger Allers, Gary Trousdale, Kirk Wise, Dave Michener, Pete Young & Mike Gabriel This one is odd, comparing it to the rest of the Disney Animated franchise. I mean, “Take a famous story and make them animals” has been done, and “people in modern times” had been done, but the fact that this is … Continue reading Jab’s Disney Reviews: Rescuers Down Under & Oliver and Company
To hear me read this story aloud–AND hear two much better stories besides it!–check out Season 3, Episode 9 of The Tiny Bookcase, HERE. Patrick was not sure that he would ever get used to having trading in pads for khakis and a button-down shirt. He wasn’t sure standing behind a podium would ever feel as comfortable as standing in front of a net. Could … Continue reading Interference
Double Dragon Double Dragon was a pretty sweet game back in the day. Everyone I knew played the 1988 Nintendo version. One of the very first of the “Beat ‘Em Up” genre, it has the standard plotline of “They kidnapped my girlfriend, so let’s you and me go and beat down their asses, one by one”. You played either Billy or Jimmy Lee (just Billy … Continue reading Jab’s Game Reviews: Double Dragon

Welcome back to my retrospective. I previously fanboyed over the first season of Daredevil and now it’s time to dive into the next series to premiere; let’s talk about the first season of Jessica Jones. Jessica Jones was a fairly new addition to the Marvel pantheon, at least in comparison to Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, so Krysten Ritter was pretty much the first … Continue reading Netflix Marvel Retrospective – Jessica Jones Season 1
